Sunday, April 2: Spring is here and with it come the openings of local gardening centres and major grocers everwhere with stacks of bagged planting soil at the front door. Whether it be flowers, shrubs, lawns and anything else green, gardening season approaches. The most comprehensive how-to gardening guide in North America is The Love of Gardening. It features tips and demonstrations on virtually everything green with program host David Tarrant. (CBC).
Monday, April 3: On the popular new program Pros Vs Joes, three regular guys (the Joes) compete against retired pros to win bragging rights and season tickets to the sports team of their choice. To win, each guy must take on five of the world's greatest athletes (the Pros) in a variety of sports competitions and challenges. These are full force, full speed competitions and whichever Joe does the best against the Pros wins the competition. (Spike TV).
Tuesday, April 4: The three-time Emmy Award-winning reality adventure series The Amazing Race has returned to the international format where teams of two travel to exotic locations spanning five continents, with stops in the Middle East, Moscow and Sicily, to name just a few. The 11 teams compete against one another in a race around the world for a $1-million prize. Phil Keoghan is the series host. (CTV).
Wednesday, April 5: Kyra Sedgwick stars as Deputy Police Chief Brenda Jean Johnson, a police detective who transfers from Atlanta to Los Angeles to head a special unit of the LAPD that handles sensitive, high-profile murder cases. Johnson's quirky personality and hard-nosed approach often rubs her colleagues the wrong way, but she eventually wins over even her toughest critics. (Global).
Thursday, April 6: The new series SAS - The Real Story documents the history, myths and secrecy of the SAS. Since Palestinian terrorists killed 11 Israelies in the 1972 Olympics, terrorism has been high of the agenda of this elite British commando team and they have specialist training methods to deal with such situations. The Iranian Embassy siege of 1980 raised their profile, bringing unwanted public attention to the SAS and its operations. (History).
Friday, April 7: Bush pilot John Lovelace has spent the past six years coveriong every corner of wilderness Canada documenting his travels and discoveries for the Wings Over Canada TV series, a lighthearted look at Canada, its people, history and customs.
